Dutch conductor Ton Koopman taught a masterclass to students of the Case/CIM Baroque Orchestra at the Cleveland Museum of Art's Gartner Auditorium on April 29, 2011.
Last weekend, Mr. Koopman began a three-year relationship as artist-in-residence with The Cleveland Orchestra across two weekends of concerts at Severance Hall, April 28 to May 8. The position is made possible through the Malcolm E. Kenney Artist-In-Residence Fund.
The Case/CIM Baroque Orchestra, directed by Julie Andrijeski, provides an opportunity for students at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Music to receive practical, pre-professional training in the burgeoning field of 17th- and 18th-century performance practice.
